PARISH NEWS HOLY WEEK

HOLY THURSDAY - 6.00 pm Concelebrated Mass of the Lord's Supper

Celebrating the gift of the Eucharist and the ministry of service. On Thursday evening we celebrate the Mass of the Lord's Supper. We gather with Jesus and the apostles in the upper room. There it is revealed to us that to be the body of Christ we are called to serve. We are called to wash the feet of others - to be their humble servants.

(23kB)GOOD FRIDAY - 4.00 pm Celebration of the Passion

Let's start the Novena to Divine Mercy (Word file)

We meditate on the Passion and the death of Jesus. We focus on the cross - the crude instrument that took the life of our Saviour - the key that opened eternal life for us all. We venerate the wood of the cross on which hung the Saviour of the world. This is a day of Fast and Abstinence. There is an obligation to fast (one main meal, two light meals in the course of the day and to abstain from meat. The Law of Fasting obliges all Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59 years (except the sick). The Law of Abstinence obliges all Catholics over the age of 14 years.

HOLY SATURDAY - 7.00 pm Easter Vigil

On this day we wait as the body of our Saviour lies dead in the tomb.
The Easter Vigil: In the words of St Augustine 'this is the mother of all vigils'.The Easter Triduum reaches its high point on this most holy night. On this night we tell our story, it is our family story. It is not just a distant memory, it is not only historical fact - it is living reality. It is the story of salvation. We are a saved people. Through his cross and resurrection Christ has set us free. We symbolise our salvation and freedom through the use of the fire and the single flame of the paschal candle. We have been called out of darkness into the wonderful light of Christ. All the readings at the Vigil reveal to us that we are God's chosen people. The blessing of the Easter water and the renewal of our baptismal promises all express the fact that we belong to Christ and so are a resurrected people.

EASTER SUNDAY - Masses: 6.00 am, 11.00 am

We are a resurrected people and alleluia is our song.

Sunday of the Passion - Palm Sunday

GOSPEL BY ST. LUKE 19,28-40
Jesus proceeded on his journey up to Jerusalem. As he drew near to Bethphage and Bethany at the place called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples. He said, "Go into the village opposite you, and as you enter it you will find a colt tethered on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it here. And if anyone should ask you, 'Why are you untying it?' you will answer, 'The Master has need of it.'" So those who had been sent went off and found everything just as he had told them. And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, "Why are you untying this colt?" They answered, "The Master has need of it." So they brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks over the colt, and helped Jesus to mount. As he rode along, the people were spreading their cloaks on the road; and now as he was approaching the slope of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of his disciples began to praise God aloud with joy for all the mighty deeds they had seen. They proclaimed: "Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest." Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples." He said in reply, "I tell you, if they keep silent, the stones will cry out!"

SUNDAY READINGS
Gospel by St. John 8:1-11

And Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. At daybreak he appeared in the Temple again; and as all the people came to him, he sat down and began to teach them. The scribes and Pharisees brought a woman along who had been caught committing adultery; and making her stand there in the middle they said to Jesus, 'Master, this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery, and in the Law Moses has ordered us to stone women of this kind. What have you got to say?' They asked him this as a test, looking for an accusation to use against him.
But Jesus bent down and started writing on the ground with his finger. As they persisted with their question, he straightened up and said, 'Let the one among you who is guiltless be the first to throw a stone at her.' Then he bent down and continued writing on the ground.
When they heard this they went away one by one, beginning with the eldest, until the last one had gone and Jesus was left alone with the woman, who remained in the middle. Jesus again straightened up and said, 'Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?' 'No one, sir,' she replied. 'Neither do I condemn you,' said Jesus. 'Go away, and from this moment sin no more.'

SUNDAY READINGS

Gospel by Saint Luke 15, 1-3. 11-32

Tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to Jesus, but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them."
So to them Jesus addressed this parable: "A man had two sons, and the younger son said to his father, 'Father give me the share of your estate that should come to me.'
So the father divided the property between them. After a few days, the younger son collected all his belongings and set off to a distant country where he squandered his inheritance on a life of dissipation. When he had freely spent everything, a severe famine struck that country, and he found himself in dire need.
So he hired himself out to one of the local citizens who sent him to his farm to tend the swine. And he longed to eat his fill of the pods on which the swine fed, but nobody gave him any. Coming to his senses he thought, 'How many of my father's hired workers have more than enough food to eat, but here am I, dying from hunger.
I shall get up and go to my father and I shall say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I no longer deserve to be called your son; treat me as you would treat one of your hired workers."'
So he got up and went back to his father. While he was still a long way off, his father caught sight of him, and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him and kissed him.
His son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you; I no longer deserve to be called your son.' But his father ordered his servants, 'Quickly bring the finest robe and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.
Take the fattened calf and slaughter it. Then let us celebrate with a feast, because this son of mine was dead, and has come to life again; he was lost, and has been found.' Then the celebration began.
Now the older son had been out in the field and, on his way back, as he neared the house, he heard the sound of music and dancing. He called one of the servants and asked what this might mean.
The servant said to him, 'Your brother has returned and your father has slaughtered the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.'
He became angry, and when he refused to enter the house, his father came out and pleaded with him. He said to his father in reply, 'Look, all these years I served you and not once did I disobey your orders; yet you never gave me even a young goat to feast on with my friends.
But when your son returns who swallowed up your property with prostitutes, for him you slaughter the fattened calf.' He said to him, 'My son, you are here with me always; everything I have is yours.
But now we must celebrate and rejoice, because your brother was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.'"

28 February - Third Sunday of Lent"

SUNDAY READINGS

GOSPEL, ST. LUKE (13,1-9) It was just about this time that some people arrived and told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with that of their sacrifices. At this he said to them, 'Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than any others, that this should have happened to them? They were not, I tell you. No; but unless you repent you will all perish as they did. Or those eighteen on whom the tower at Siloam fell, killing them all? Do you suppose that they were more guilty than all the other people living in Jerusalem? They were not, I tell you. No; but unless you repent you will all perish as they did.'
He told this parable, 'A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit on it but found none. He said to his vinedresser, "For three years now I have been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and finding none. Cut it down: why should it be taking up the ground?" "Sir," the man replied, "leave it one more year and give me time to dig round it and manure it: it may bear fruit next year; if not, then you can cut it down." '

SUNDAY READINGS

Philippians 3,17--4,1
Brothers, be united in imitating me. Keep your eyes fixed on those who act according to the example you have from me. For there are so many people of whom I have often warned you, and now I warn you again with tears in my eyes, who behave like the enemies of Christ's cross. They are destined to be lost; their god is the stomach; they glory in what they should think shameful, since their minds are set on earthly things.
But our homeland is in heaven and it is from there that we are expecting a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transfigure the wretched body of ours into the mould of his glorious body, through the working of the power which he has, even to bring all things under his mastery. So then, my brothers and dear friends whom I miss so much, my joy and my crown, hold firm in the Lord, dear friends.

Gospel - Lukas 9, 28b-36
Now about eight days after this had been said, he took with him Peter, John and James and went up the mountain to pray. And it happened that, as he was praying, the aspect of his face was changed and his clothing became sparkling white. And suddenly there were two men talking to him; they were Moses and Elijah appearing in glory, and they were speaking of his passing which he was to accomplish in Jerusalem. Peter and his companions were heavy with sleep, but they woke up and saw his glory and the two men standing with him.
As these were leaving him, Peter said to Jesus, 'Master, it is wonderful for us to be here; so let us make three shelters, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.' He did not know what he was saying. As he was saying this, a cloud came and covered them with shadow; and when they went into the cloud the disciples were afraid. And a voice came from the cloud saying, 'This is my Son, the Chosen One. Listen to him.'
And after the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. The disciples kept silence and, at that time, told no one what they had seen.

"The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit" (Rom 5,5)

And no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. (1 Cor 12,3)

February 14 - First Sunday of Lent THE LENT IT IS TIME OF GRACE:
Repent and believe in the Gospel.
May our faith is expressed in good deeds: prayer, fasting and almsgiving.

Sunday's readings:
Reading 2
Rom 10:8-13
Brothers and sisters:
What does Scripture say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart -that is, the word of faith that we preach-, for, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For one believes with the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved. For the Scripture says, No one who believes in him will be put to shame.
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, enriching all who call upon him. For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Gospel
LK 4:1-13
Filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert for forty days, to be tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and when they were over he was hungry.
The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread."
Jesus answered him, "It is written, One does not live on bread alone."
Then he took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a single instant. The devil said to him, "I shall give to you all this power and glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I may give it to whomever I wish. All this will be yours, if you worship me."
Jesus said to him in reply, "It is written: You shall worship the Lord, your God, and him alone shall you serve."
Then he led him to Jerusalem, made him stand on the parapet of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here, for it is written: He will command his angels concerning you, to guard you, and: With their hands they will support you, lest you dash your foot against a stone."
Jesus said to him in reply, "It also says, You shall not put the Lord, your God, to the test."
When the devil had finished every temptation, he departed from him for a time.

Message of the Holy Father Francis for the World Day of the Sick

Sunday's readings:
Paul's testimony of the resurrection of Christ
I am reminding you, brothers and sisters, of the gospel I preached to you, which you indeed received and in which you also stand. Through it you are also being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I handed on to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures; that he was buried; that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures; that he appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve. After that, Christ appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep.
After that he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one born abnormally, he appeared to me. For I am the least of the apostles, not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me has not been ineffective. Indeed, I have toiled harder than all of them; not I, however, but the grace of God that is with me.
Therefore, whether it be I or they, so we preach and so you believed.
Here the Word of God.
1 Corinthians 15: 1-11

Ezra Reads the Law.

Ezra the scribe stood on a wooden platform that had been made for the occasion. He opened the scroll so that all the people might see it — for he was standing higher up than any of the people —; and, as he opened it, all the people rose. Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God, and all the people, their hands raised high, answered, “Amen, amen!” Then they bowed down and prostrated themselves before the LORD, their faces to the ground.
Ezra read plainly from the book of the law of God, interpreting it so that all could understand what was read. Then Nehemiah, that is, His Excellency, and Ezra the priest-scribe and the Levites who were instructing the people said to all the people: “Today is holy to the LORD your God. Do not be sad, and do not weep”— for all the people were weeping as they heard the words of the law. He said further: “Go, eat rich foods and drink sweet drinks, and allot portions to those who had nothing prepared; for today is holy to our LORD. Do not be saddened this day, for rejoicing in the LORD must be your strength!”

Following the example of Ezra and Nehemiah translate the word of God in acts of mercy.

Reading from the Gospel of St. Luke
Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news of him spread throughout the whole region. He taught in their synagogues and was praised by all.
He came to Nazareth, where he had grown up, and went according to his custom into the synagogue on the sabbath day. He stood up to read and was handed a scroll of the prophet Isaiah. He unrolled the scroll and found the passage where it was written: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord." Rolling up the scroll, he handed it back to the attendant and sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue looked intently at him. He said to them, “Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.”

The Lord Jesus gives Himself to us as a model to follow, reading the Word of God, refers them together and the will of the Father.

During the mention of St. Francis de Sales - patron of journalists, let us pray for the intentions of Catholic media that serve the proclamation of the Word of God.

Different Kinds of Holy Spirit Gifts

Brothers and sisters:
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit;
there are different forms of service but the same Lord;
there are different workings but the same God
who produces all of them in everyone.

To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit is given for some benefit.
To one is given through the Spirit the expression of wisdom;
to another, the expression of knowledge according to the same Spirit;
to another, faith by the same Spirit;
to another, gifts of healing by the one Spirit;
to another, mighty deeds;
to another, prophecy;
to another, discernment of spirits;
to another, varieties of tongues;
to another, interpretation of tongues.

But one and the same Spirit produces all of these,
distributing them individually to each person as he wishes.

10 of January - Sunday - Baptism of our Lord

The people were filled with expectation, and all were asking in their hearts whether John might be the Christ. John answered them all, saying, “I am baptizing you with water, but one mightier than I is coming. I am not worthy to loosen the thongs of his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”
After all the people had been baptized and Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”

On the teaching of St. Bp. Joseph Sebastian Pelczar

"Three Kings not only honoured the Lord, but made him gifts that divine inspiration brought with them. It was also a confession of their faith, because by offering gold, expressed that he is the King, offering incense, expressed that he is God, by offering Him myrrh, they expressed that he is a real man and Redeemer.
The Child of God adopted welcome these victims and give them the other generous gifts; namely for gold, the gift of love and holy zeal; for incense, the gift of wisdom and piety; by myrrh, the gift of patience and mortification. Besides, who denounces the feelings of joy and admiration they woke Jesus in their hearts, as he intensified his view of their faith and love, as well as sweet and poignant were their conversation with the Blessed Mother and Joseph. Following the example of the Three Kings, offer and you as often as gifts to the Lord Jesus, and especially whereupon when Holy Communion. in your heart resides. Offer the gold, it is your will to the will of God completely surrendered; offer incense, it is your mind, to worship God in thought and word; offer your myrrh, that is your body would troubled and suffering for the glory of God. Moreover, your gold, let it be the love of God and neighbour, frankincense your mental prayer and oral, myrrh your mortification of the body and soul, as well as suffering willingly endured. Do you make such gifts? Staying too often in Bethlehem spiritual, or at the feet of latent, or beloved visitation and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament."

From the Gospel:

In the beginning was the Word: the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things came into being, not one thing came into being except through him. What has come into being in him was life, life that was the light of men; and light shines in darkness, and darkness could not overpower it.

The 2nd Reading:

Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all the spiritual blessings of heaven in Christ. Thus he chose us in Christ before the world was made to be holy and faultless before him in love, marking us out for himself beforehand, to be adopted sons, through Jesus Christ. Such was his purpose and good pleasure, to the praise of the glory of his grace, his free gift to us in the Beloved, That is why I, having once heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus, and your love for all God's holy people, have never failed to thank God for you and to remember you in my prayers. May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perception of what is revealed, to bring you to full knowledge of him. May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his call holds for you, how rich is the glory of the heritage he offers among his holy people.
(Ephesians 1:3-6, 15-18)

My Dears,
"This is how you must bless the Israelites. You will say:
May Yahweh bless you and keep you.
May Yahweh let his face shine on you and be gracious to you.
May Yahweh show you his face and bring you peace."

In the Jubilee Year of Divine Mercy remember
that our goal is to continuously improve themselves
doing good and to grow in faith.

The purpose of our life is salvation.
Let us lead the Merciful Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Bless God

January 2 - First Saturday of the month
- let us give honour to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, Our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve, To thee do we send up our sighs, Mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Amen.

1st of January - First Friday of the month
Act of Consecration of the Human Race
to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostrate before Thine altar. We are Thine, and Thine we wish to be; but, to be more surely united with Thee, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today to Thy most Sacred Heart.
Many indeed have never known Thee; many too, despising Thy precepts, have rejected Thee. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to Thy sacred Heart. Be Thou King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken Thee, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned Thee; grant that they may quickly return to Thy Father's house lest they die of wretchedness and hunger.
Be Thou King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps aloof, and call them back to the harbour of truth and unity of faith, so that there may be but one flock and one Shepherd.
Be Thou King of all those who are still involved in the darkness of idolatry or of Islamism, and refuse not to draw them into the light and kingdom of God. Turn Thine eyes of mercy towards the children of the race, once Thy chosen people: of old they called down upon themselves the Blood of the Saviour; may it now descend upon them a laver of redemption and of life.
Grant, O Lord, to Thy Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: "Praise be to the divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to it be glory and honour for ever."
Amen.

December 28 - Feast of Innocents - Martyrs - boys killed on Harrods order

Death Boys in Bethlehem After they had left, suddenly the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, 'Get up, take the child and his mother with you, and escape into Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, because Herod intends to search for the child and do away with him.' So Joseph got up and, taking the child and his mother with him, left that night for Egypt, where he stayed until Herod was dead. This was to fulfil what the Lord had spoken through the prophet: I called my son out of Egypt. Herod was furious on realising that he had been fooled by the wise men, and in Bethlehem and its surrounding district he had all the male children killed who were two years old or less, reckoning by the date he had been careful to ask the wise men.
Then were fulfilled the words spoken through the prophet Jeremiah: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamenting and weeping bitterly: it is Rachel weeping for her children, refusing to be comforted because they are no more. (Mt 2, 13-18)

As they were stoning Stephen, he called out:
“Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”
Then he fell to his knees and cried out in a loud voice:
“Lord, do not hold this sin against them”;
and when he said this, he fell asleep.

Holy Stephen,
You boldly defended the truth that Jesus Christ is the only Messiah and Saviour,
You under a hail of stones even prayed for his persecutors.
Insert, please, for me before God that I it is every word and deed confirmed faith in Jesus and able to love everyone, even my enemies.

13 December - Third Sunday of Advent

Let us serve God and neighbor with joy
through participation in parish life

Reading from the Letter of St. Paul to the Philippians
Brothers:
Always be joyful, then, in the Lord; I repeat, be joyful. Let your good sense be obvious to everybody. The Lord is near.
Never worry about anything; but tell God all your desires of every kind in prayer and petition shot through with gratitude, and the peace of God which is beyond our understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4,4-7)

The prayer of Saint Sister Faustina (Diary 163):
- Help me, O Lord, that my eyes may be merciful, so that I may never suspect or judge from appearances, but always look for what is beautiful in my neighbour's souls and come to their rescue.
- Help me, that my ears may be merciful, so that I may give heed to my neighbour's needs, and not be indifferent to their pains and moaning's.
- Help me, O Lord, that my tongue may be merciful, so that I should never speak negatively of others, but have a word of comfort and forgiveness for all.
- Help me, O Lord, that my hands may be merciful and filled with good deeds, so that I may do only good to my neighbours and always try to take upon myself the more difficult and toilsome tasks.
- Help me, O Lord, that my feet may be merciful, so that I may hurry to assist my neighbour, overcoming my own fatigue and weariness. My true rest is in the service of my neighbour.
- Help me, O Lord, that my heart may be merciful, so that I myself may feel all the sufferings of my neighbour. I will refuse my heart to no one. I will be sincere even with those who, I know, will abuse my kindness. And I will lock myself up in the most merciful Heart of Jesus. I will bear my own suffering in silence.
I want to be completely transformed into Your mercy, Sister Faustina prayed, and to be Your living reflection, O Lord. May the greatest of all divine attributes, that of Your unfathomable mercy, pass through my heart and soul to my neighbour.

God, rich in Mercy

S. Faustina in her "Diary" says to Jesus:
+ You Yourself command me to exercise the three degrees of mercy. The first: the act of mercy, of whatever kind. The second: the word of mercy – if I cannot carry out a work of mercy, I will assist by my words. The third: prayer – if I cannot show mercy by deeds or words, I can always do so by prayer. My prayer reaches out even there where I cannot reach out physically. O my Jesus, transform me into Yourself, for you can do all things. (Diary 163)

November, 22nd - The Solemnity Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe

(89kB)Christ is the Lord of the kings of the earth.

Jesus Christ is the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead and ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, who has made us into a kingdom, priests for his God and Father, to him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen. Behold, he is coming amid the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him. All the peoples of the earth will lament him. Yes. Amen. "I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God, "the one who is and who was and who is to come, the almighty."

(Ap 1, 5-8)

Be in this world bearers of Christian faith and hope by living love every day. Be faithful witnesses of the Risen Christ, never turn back before the obstacles that present themselves on the paths of your lives. I am counting on you. On your youthful energy and your dedication to Christ. I have known Polish youth. They have never disappointed me. The world needs you. The Church needs you. The future of Poland depends on you. Build and strengthen on Polish soil the "civilization of love": in personal, social and political life, in the schools, universities, parishes and families that one day you will form. For this purpose spare none of your youthful enthusiasm, energy and sacrifice.

Who is among those Saints? Who intercedes for us before God?

- Saint Pope John Paul II
- Saint John of Dukla
- Saint Andrew Bobola
- Saint John Sebastian Pelczar
- Saint Zygmunt Gorazdowski
- Blessed John Bilecki
- Blessed Bronislaw Markiewicz
- Blessed Carolina Kózkówna

From the homily of St. Pope John Paul II's beatification on Carolina Kózkówna (Tarnow, June 10, 1987):
"Is saints are there to shame? Yes. They may be after it. Sometimes it is necessary to the salvation shame to see a man in the whole truth. What is needed is, to discover or rediscover a hierarchy of values. We need everything, old and young."

NOVEMBER - MONTH OF PRAYER FOR THE DEAD

(48kB) "All then blessed the ways of the Lord, the upright judge who brings hidden things to light, and gave themselves to prayer, begging that the sin committed might be completely forgiven.
Next, the valiant Judas urged the soldiers to keep themselves free from all sin, having seen with their own eyes the effects of the sin of those who had fallen; after this he took a collection from them individually, amounting to nearly two thousand drachmas, and sent it to Jerusalem to have a sacrifice for sin offered, an action altogether fine and noble, prompted by his belief in the resurrection.
For had he not expected the fallen to rise again, it would have been superfluous and foolish to pray for the dead, whereas if he had in view the splendid recompense reserved for those who make a pious end, the thought was holy and devout.
Hence, he had this expiatory sacrifice offered for the dead, so that they might be released from their sin. " (2 Maccabees 12,41-45)

CHRISTIAN WAYS TO HELP DEAD

1. The Sacrifice of the Mass, preferably with the acquisition of Holy Communion.
2. Presentation of indulgences.
3. Different types of prayer: Rosary, Chaplet of Divine Mercy, litanies, etc.
4. Presentation of suffering and good works.
5. Mimicking the good qualities of the deceased.
6. Prudent concern for the aesthetics of the grave.

Excess candles and flowers do not give anything dead. Let's help the dead on the way theological, ecological, economic and aesthetic. Let us not allow that on the graves of people close to us on the second day remained a big dump.

THE SACRIFICE OF THE INDULGENCE
A plenary indulgence is a remission to man by God of all temporal punishment due for sins already forgiven as regards the fault in the sacrament of penance. Who will obtain a plenary indulgence for themselves escape punishment in purgatory. Who will obtain a plenary indulgence for the dead - rescues souls from purgatory.

CONDITIONS FOR OBTAINING INDULGENCE
Exclude all attachment to sin, even venial (disposition).
Follow the steps indulgence is attached.

Fill out the following three conditions:
1. Sacramental Confession or being in a state of grace.
2. Adoption of Holy Communion.
3. Refusing to pray for the intentions of the Holy Father.

If there is no full disposal of exclusion taste for any sin, the indulgence will be only partial.
